Running Boards / Nerf Bars

Can anyone recommend a pair of sideboards that mount without alterations to a 25 Hybrid XLT.... and stick out a bit past the side of the door so that they provide door ding protection to the lower part of the truck. The protection is my primary need in getting these. I plan on adding side molding at mid level.

Really would not protect from most door dings. Most vehicles on the road are SUV's or trucks. Most of them them would not hit the running board, going over it instead. They are as high or higher. It should help against the Civic/Corolla's out there. But cars are few and far between. Running boards might help against stone chips.

My son an I just finished installing a set TACUSA sidebars, #216020 on my 26 Maverick Hybrid Lariat. It took approximately 5 hours and a hassle with the 10MM spiral bolts for the passenger side. We had to cut and grind down the elbow of the spiral bolts to fit the holes between the two doors. Those spiral bolts should have been better designed--smaller size or L shaped instead of the spiral crap as there is no way the bolts will be moving once in place. And while the spiral bolts all around did not really hang straight down as shown in the diagrams and directions they are still seem pretty secure--time will tell. Will come back in a couple of weeks and check the bolts and nuts for tightness.

And my wife has found it easier to step up now into the truck. She is very happy. She still needs that 4-5" cushion to see over the dash.
