Hey everyone,

I did as much research as I can, but I was hoping you guys could help me out with a towing question. I have a 2.0 EB with towing package. I found a camper I want to buy, a Riverside Retro RV with a GVWR of 3900. Tongue weight is either 400 or 480. I say either because I find conflicting information on whether it is 400 or 480 for a 2017. I tried using the ford towing calculator but it wasn't working. Would you mind breaking this down to me like I'm a 5 year old and whether I can safely pull this. Yes, I understand max capacity is 4000 lbs for my Maverick and I really should be 10-15% under that, and yes I know the max tongue weight is 400 lb. From everything I can tell I might be close to it or at the max of capabilities, but isn't that why Ford sent those numbers? Am I able to tow the camper without any water or waste and nothing inside of it to ensure I can tow it safely? I appreciate you guys!

I think you will be fine as long as you take it easy in the mountains and pack minimally. Legal stuff, yadda yadda yadda. From reviews I have heard of overweight tows. Just know that mpg will take a big hit and you will notice it back there for sure, but it will pull fine as long as have 4k towing.

GVWR of 3900 is the max the trailer can weigh full, not the empty weight.
