Does anyone have any experience with a roll on Bedliner? I am not a fan of the plastic drop in because I have the bed and use it all the time. Trying to not pay LineX what they want to paint a bed that is half the size of a fullsized truck for the same price.

Normally I'm a DIY'er, too, and like to save money, but I think this is the kind of thing where it's money well spent to have a pro do it right. I'd beat myself up everytime I looked at the truck if I ended up doing a lousy job myself.

I went with LineX and am very happy with the results. I had it done prior to my receiving the Maverick so it just went into my cost.

Line-X price - I felt the same way on my 2022. So I phoned a Line-X dealer, told them that Ford charges $495 for SIBL, asked if they would match the price if I paid cash and it was a done deal.

Personally, if you use your bed as a truck, I think SIBL is the way to go. I cart new appliances in their box and old appliances, old water heaters etc. to the transfer station and mine has no gouges. Also, I think, no empirical data to back this up, the SIBL acts as a sound absorber.

SIBL doesn't fill the mystery gap between the bed bottom and bed sides so I purchased auto-specific body caulk and caulked the 4'6" gap along the sides.

I don't buy the explaination that the gap helps water drain, not after the gap fills with debris, nursery mix, manure, hay, dirt, all which hold moisture.

I did roll on myself. It took pretty much all day. It doesn't seem as thick as spray on but I have a mat also. Make sure the bed is clean then clean it again. I used Eastwood wax and grease remover. Overall I'm happy with it but I use the bed for dirt bikes and lumber. Nothing too rugid.

Prep is the key. I have restored a couple of MJ's with good luck. Less important which brand but Very important to clean decrease and provide a good bite. Have about 5 years without any issues and still looking great when I sold it. This was used as a truck not a trailer queen, and still looked great. Quality may be not quite the same as the professional but still pretty good. Good luck.
