" Recently, though, our friends at Consumer Reports analyzed actual transaction data from TrueCar and found a number of vehicles that were, on average, selling for seven percent above MSRP or more. So unless you’re truly desperate to own a specific model, these are 10 vehicles that you’ll probably want to cross off your new-car shopping list, at least until supply catches up with demand. "
If people aren't patient, they pay over MSRP. That's what the article is about. It's a "bad deal" to pay too much for a vehicle.
Some of us got "Sucker Punched" by the dealership when they hid the ADM (added dealer markup) in the paperwork with no mention upfront. I asked my dealership about ADM when I put down my 1K deposit when I ordered it and was told they didn't do that. I was happy I actually won the Maverick lottery when mine arrived only to get mad when in the finance office I found the numbers did not add up right. I had to find my salesperson to find out why it was $3,995 above my expectations. I almost and should have walked away but after waiting nearly two years I finalized the purchase. I did lodge a complaint with Ford headquarters about this.
