Well today I got the Ford I'm sorry email. Seems like the same one that many people got last week. When I did not get that one I called customer service and I got a vin! Have no idea how Ford is managing this. I never got an email about a vin but get an I'm sorry email a week after everyone else. Sorry just seen another post that others got this to having a vin.
