2023 Lariat Hybrid.

For the first 10,000 miles or more of use whenever I would start the truck the radio would start up in the same spot that I left it. That usually means on a SXM radio station on the audio screen. But for the last couple weeks it starts up on the home screen with FM radio playing regardless of what was playing when I turned the truck off. Is there a setting that can be changed to go back to where it restarts where I left off? I have already tried the master reset of the system, but it has not helped.

I had the same issue last year and there was an update available for the SYNC system that fixed the issue. The only thing was that I tried several times to install the update myself and it wouldn't install so I had to bring it to the dealer to have them do the SYNC system update.

I'll second what Art Vandelay shared. Sync version 3.4.22251 was noted for having alot of issues. One being the radio would no longer keep memory. Sync version 3.4.23188 is supposed to correct that and some other issues.

If you have 3.4.22251, it may be worth seeing if you can get it updated.

If you are updating, just go the USB route. Wifi updates are incredibly unreliable.

It does appear that I have version 3.4.22251, so I will see if I can get it updated.

How do you update via USB?

How do you update via USB?
If you have the Ford Pass desktop app, open it, select "View All Vehicle Details" then select "Sync Updates", enter you VIN if it doesn't auto populate, then scroll down and see if an update is available. If so, download the file, find a USB stick, format it and follow the instructions included on the update page.

If no update is available online, you can make an appointment and have your dealer update it for you.

Good luck! :)

Finally got around to updating the software. Hopefully it works. I'll find out in the morning on the drive to work.

Here are the instructions for it in case anyone else is ever looking for them.

Great. Yes, please report back. I'm curious if it fixes your problems.

My guess is, it will. ;)

Mine had the exact same issue due to a failed over the air update. This seems to be a known issue. It had to go to the dealer for a couple of software updates. Handled under warranty and given a free loaner while they had the truck. All is good now.

Jim, any follow up on whether the update fixed the issue or not?
