It's a kit offered by Smyth Kit Cars, my donor car was a Jetta TDI. They have the kit available for a bunch of vehicles - VW Beetle, Dodge Charger, Audi A4/S4, Subaru Impreza, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. My signature on the left has a link to my Google album of the build process.
I did the project 6 years ago. Couldn't buy a small truck at that time so I had to make my own.

Yes, Jetta I used is a manual trans TDI. Best mileage has been 47mpg over a tank (600mi). I love it, but it's being sold to make room in the garage for the recently-purchased Maverick.
Hopes nobody laughs.
