Have you tried to remove the marks with rubbing alcohol? [Don't drip rubbing alcohol on the paint, it will dull it.] It won't hurt plastic. Use a stiff toothbrush from the dollar store. If successful, treat the plastic with a product made for exterior plastic and bumpers etc. to bring back a shine. I just cleaned white scuff marks off my bed using this method.

Also try a heat gun on low, be careful. Mask paint with a wet towel if you can’t pop it off. Watch a utube video of people doing it . I’ve done it on my ranger and F-150 before.

Two options - the first is Mother's back to black however this is a temporary (weeks - month) solution.

The other is Cerakote, which is a permanent bonding polymer that will impregnant the MIC plastic to provide a protective layer and shine. Dirty and water will wipe away much easier.

The downside to Cerakote is that if you do not prep well and allow for proper time to cure your plastic will further whiten and look like total shit.

I plan to cerakote my rails next spring after the winter - but I am going to remove them from the truck and prep and coat them in my basement over a number of days.

Or I will buy replacement ones and Cerakote right from the factory before install.

Have you tried either a pink or Pentel white eraser? Saw it used on youtube and it seemed to work great. Even removed the graying with age that the black plastic trim gets. Was recommended for removing polish that got on the plastic trim. Can't hurt to try at the price.

I’ve used cerakote on jeep wrangler fender flares with good results. Lasted about a year and was easy. They were faded not deeply scarred though.

I’ve tried the heat gun with a diffuser on some also but that takes patience and skills to not melt it into something worse. Not for me. šŸ˜”

If those rails are Injection molded ABS or similar plastic there’s only so much one can do to them.

Search Redneck Garage on YouTube. Dave is great and recently replaced the driver side bed panel which involved removing that top rail.

Keep us posted on your results. I think there’s a lot of the same plastic on these trucks and I wonder how it will age.
