Can I leave that huge fob key in the truck and manually lock the door on my way out and then use the push buttons on the door to get back in so I don't have to carry that monstrosity?
Don’t like your car wanted stolen

If you seriously think that leaving the key hidden in your vehicle will get it stolen, you are wrong. We NEVER take our key out and have been doing it with all of our cars for probably 20 years. We have code key house doors so we NEVER loose any key. Pretty sweet actually. If someone is getting in your vehicle to steal it and not just steal the contents, they will accomplish it without looking for your hidden key.

I really dislike Ford keys. They are ridiculously oversized. Is there an actual reason for it, some sort of necessary technology in there? The XL/XLT keys seem more reasonably sized and slimmer. But when I borrow my wife's Mustang, which has the same size key as the Lariat one pictured, the key is very bulky and inconvenient when I put it in my pocket...
Other manufacturers have fobs noticeably larger than this. More luxury equals larger key fobs. Some are north of $1000 to replace

Had a friend leave his keys locked in his truck while at work. Someone stole his truck. Insurance did not cover it because he left his keys in the vehicle. Insurance company was State Farm.

Checking on this, did they change the fob for the 2023 Lariat? Parents picked up the order I put in back in January 22, and they got a fob from the dealer with just lock unlock and panic, no remote start button on the fob. It does have the lariat lux package.

Don't forget, you can remote start any trim level with the Ford App on your phone and the app and service is free.

.
Unless, of course, where you park is in a cellular dead zone. Those do still exist. Key-fob remote start is only range dependent. I want both, expecting to use the key-fob remote start as a backup.

I'm not 100% sure on the Lariat and Lariat Lux trims, but I do know XLT Lux trim the remote start is an add-on option.
