Lucy was a rescue and was originally named Dixie. I wanted two pups named Lucy and Ethel, so Dixie became Lucy.

About a month later we found Carly. Her name was Carl, so my wife added a y and she became Carly.

Credit them for me finding the Maverick. I need a four door so I can haul them around and I like having a truck.

Now we are talking! Got Annabelle during the Valley Fire out of a high kill shelter situation. The shelters ended up having thousands of dogs and four days after our last dog past (and I swore never again), she turned up.
We got her a brother from the same shelter, loved him but he wasn’t meant to stay with us long (pancreatic cancer)…so my wife hit the internet and found Max out on the coast. He was in a better shelter situation (no kill), but had been there for most of his 1.5 years. Yep- get in the car dude.

These two clowns are going to destroy the back seat of THEIR truck when it gets here

I hope I can show off my cats? Rescued them from my parent's place where momma had moved them under their porch. 5 kitties in all. All went to good homes. Momma still living with my parents. Spayed of course. This is Cheddar and Cayenne. Cayenne because she was very spicy and I was worried she wouldn't find a home, but she is such a gentle cat now. Her name didn't stick. Cheddar well he's Orange plus he liked cheddar cheese when I would feed them all.

You can already see Norman in my avatar so I will drop this little gem. This is Marvin, one of my Tarahumara Mountain Dwarf Boas. This is a locality bred boa that stays right around 3’ (Norman is now 7’- same species). His partner is Tammi, named by one of my fifth graders for “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”…clever right? Anyway, we have 11 snakes in our classroom- but I won’t get crazy

This is my office assistant Nala keeping an eye on my productivity. Rescued her from a parking lot as a hungry flea-covered kitten 2 years ago.

This is my Buttercup (left) and one of her friends (Hope) from playcare during mid-afternoon nap time last Thursday afternoon after her 2nd dose of chemo since relapsing. She was diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma 9 Nov 2020 & started chemo the same day. Finished four cycles of chemo on 27 May 2021 and was declared in remission. It lasted a little under 5 months. Started chemo again and after only two treatments the lymph nodes are already indistinguishable to me. <phew>

I found her thru a rescue that saves dogs in TN and sends them up to New England around Christmas 2010 and she came home to me on 4 Jan 2011. The Rescue believes her litter was born sometime in early November 2010, so she's 11yo this month. They thought she was mostly Pittie, but DNA shows she's 25% Boxer, 25% German ShortHaired Pointer, 25% Shar Pei (has to be totally recessive) and 25% "heinz 57".
