Finally got to really test my cheap soft roll up tonneau cover install. Had it installed for six months but very seldom drive in rain. Today was helping our son move household goods 200 miles to new home. Weather was showing storms on the way across our travel route. So we got up early and packed up his Explorer and wife’s Maverick. I filled bed with small child’s chair, a small wooden table, nice wood jewelers box and cardboard boxes of kitchen stuff. We fastened the tailgate end of cover and ran our palms down sides to make sure Velcro seams were sealed good. And started out on our 200 miles on I-40 trip across Arkansas. About 45 minutes into the trip it started to rain and I told my wife I hoped the cover would keep some of water out. Then the bottom dropped out of the sky, some of the hardest rain I’ve driven through. Everyone that wasn’t pulled off the interstate was driving 30mph with wipers going full blast. Wind blowing like crazy. This lasted for 40-50 miles Got to his place and it finally quit raining about 20 miles before we got there. I checked and the area we drove through got 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches of rain in about an hour or so. When we dropped the tailgate I couldn’t believe it. Nothing wet, a tiny bit in 2-3 locations. The stuff my son carried in the explorer was wetter, he’d had the rear air on full blast and things were a little damp from condensation
