Please avoid doing business with St Helens Ford.

My wife and I custom ordered a Ford Maverick in October of 2021 and received verbal and written assurance that the vehicle would be sold to us at MSRP, and made a $500 deposit for our order.

Now 15 months later our Maverick has finally been built and is at the dealership to pick up. BUT St Helens Ford will not honor their word and demanded we pay $5,000 over MSRP to take our vehicle home.

We refused to pay over the agreed upon price when we ordered the vehicle and walked away.

Unfortunately St Helens Ford is showing themselves to be one of those car dealers that lacks honesty and integrity, please avoid doing business with them.

That sucks to hear that. I lived in St. Helens 97 -04, bought two new trucks from them, and they were great to deal with. Is Dino still the owner / sales manager?

St. Helens Ford is not a reputable dealer in my own experience and should be avoided.
Just a sleazy operation all around and after my purchase I felt like taking an acid bath to wash off the stank.

You can include Kendall Ford in Eugene. They are adding 10K over invoice to any Mav that they get.

I would ask for the owner and if he still does not honor it, just let them know in a nice way you will be slamming them on social media, writing a negative review on Google, sending a certified letter to Ford, contact the BBB, and the list goes on. That is ridiculous to not honor an agreement.

Your written purchase order is not an “agreement”. It is a CONTRACT. The price is part of it- possibly subject to relatively minor manufacturer price increases if not specified as a fixed price, but failure to sell at the contracted price with that possible exception is a breach of contract and legally actionable. Either meet the contract terms or be held liable in court for damages and probably legal costs as well.

If you have a signed offer sheet I would lawyer up. I would sue them for as much as I could.

I suspect they might be out of business. Trying to open their website gets "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" and "This site is currently not hosted by Dealeron.".
