OEM Bed extender - rivets

So got the box home from the dealer and reading through the directions it wants me to drill holes and then use a rivet tool to put on the vertical bars.
in all the installation videos, didn‘t see anyone mention these Rivets.
Seems strange not to be predrilled.
Are people putting them on Or just using it without?

i don’t see anywhere in the video him showing any holes on the bed extender. the only predrilled holes he mentioned are for the anchor points on the truck unless I missed something,

OK, ME BAD...
You have a issue (drilling holes) with the "Assembly" of the extender itself...

I have just spent the last half hour looking at Extender installs. There is NO mention of the "Assembly" of the Extender, itself..
