Good Morning, I'm today's new guy. I purchased a 2024 Maverick Lariat last summer, and I'm enjoying every minute behind the wheel. I had a 1997 Ranger and was a member of Ranger Station for quite a while. Now, I'm looking forward to keeping up with Maverick news. Best Regards to everyone.

I'm interested in knowing if there is a way to keep my tailgate unlocked when the truck is locked. Any ideas?

You could unplug the wiring at the tailgate as if removing it, just make sure it's unlocked first. You could also devise a hidden switch to do this so it would be easier to lock when desired. Beware, I'm not sure if the backup camera shares the plug with the lock system. Might just have to unplug the power at the actuator. The bolt in panel on the inside of the tailgate should provide the access to do this.

Thanks! Sounds like a good place to start. Seems like it would be a common gripe by owners. I'm always doing chores and want to put something heavy in the truck bed, then need to stop and go in the house to get key fob to unlock the tail gate.

Hey there, a quick update regarding Maverick tailgate lock/unlock workaround. Your suggestion to disconnect the wiring worked. Further, it was quick and easy. Remove the plate on the interior side of the tailgate. The electrical connection is right there and easy to disconnect, as simple as pulling a plug from a wall outlet. Also, I made sure the tailgate was unlocked when disconnecting, and there is no risk of interfering with the backup camera. Thanks for the suggestion and Merry Christmas!
