Hi Everyone,
I ordered a 2024 Maverick XLT hybrid on 06/22. It was built on 09/14 and shipped on 09/17. I am of course incredibly excited to get it soon. I just sold a 2017 Ford Transit cutaway (32,000 miles) with a nice Knapheide body for 35k and I think with the options I will only be 1.5k outta pocket for the difference. I decided to retire after 30 years of plumbing with the last 20 years owning my own plumbing company and did not need that big work truck any more. I am really looking forward to the maverick being my retirement vehicle, and everywhere I look I see rave reviews on it and its price (except for a few software recalls). This will be the first automobile I have owned new. I am hoping the dealer doesn't try to jack up the price over what Ford quoted me online, as I heard another nearby dealer did that to somebody in the reviews of that dealer. Anyway, glad to see there is an active forum like this for people like me to ask questions and hopefully offer my input to others after I have had some experience with the truck. If there is anything you guys can think of that would help me when dealing with the Ford dealer (I don't really trust those guys too much) or things to look for when I complete the sale please let me know as I am a rookie when it comes to dealerships as I have bought almost of my automobliles from a private party.
Thanking you guys ahead,
-trevor

Congratulations on getting your Maverick - well almost!

Perhaps one of the first mods is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

See details at Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)

Congrats again and thanks for considering.

Hi, I just got the maverick on saturday. The dealer wanted to sell me a few extras that were totally unnecessary and very costly. He had them all listed on the receit already, and some installed too, which upset me. They were :
1. Nitrogen filled tires : $300
2. Paint warranty : $1500
3. Door edge : $300 or $400 (i cant remember)
There were 3 others that were ridiculous prices as well, but I do not remember them. For the nitrogen filled tires, I told him I used to install medical gas systems at hospitals and I could fill a big 5 foot nitrogen tank for way less than $300, so why would I pay for that. I told him the paint warranty was absurd since I could get the car painted for $1000 in the ghetto, so no way on that. He had already installed the door edge, so I did say I would pay for that, but quite costly for 3 or 4 hundo for a thick piece of scotch tape that could be applied in a few minutes per door. I wish I could remember the others, the costs would amuse as well.
