I have been researching in this forum for what accessories/modifications I am going to add to my Lobo.

So far, I have ordered Redline Tuning Hood QuickLIFT hood system. Tailgate Assist hydraulic ram from Rough Country, Rokblokz mud flaps and the Ford Cargo Management System Kit (bed rail tie down kit). These seem to be the best value-added accessories for me at this time.

Based on performance in various past vehicles, I have ordered a Massive Competition Front Strut Tower Brace. Have used shock tower braces on past vehicles and they do help handling.

Still following posts on the best tire upgrade for my type of driving and location.

I am also following information on the turbo/intercooler upgrade Ford is set to release for the Maverick. Not sure I would do this mod but it is an interesting idea.

I'm interested in any comments/suggestions

Be aware - Installation of the tailgate assist requires removal of the factory tie-down bracket on the driver's side of the gate which interferes with the strut. But it's a shame to lose a tie-down point. I made a replacement tie-down for mine.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. Enjoyed making it enough that I keep making more. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum if anyone would like one. Don't lose a tie-down point!

Thank you for your reply. I did understand I would lose the driver side tie down but wasn't sure if I would use it. I will keep your replacement tie down under consideration after I use my truck more and if I need that tie down position I will definitely be in touch with you!

So far, I have installed the Redline Tuning Hood QuickLIFT hood system. Tailgate Assist hydraulic ram from Rough Country and the Ford Cargo Management System Kit (bed rail tie down kit). All easy to install and add value for me.

I will install the Massive Competition Front Strut Tower Brace as the weather warms up.

I have also added a set of WeatherTech floor mats, bed mat and tail gate cover. I would have preferred a sprayed in bed liner and tail gate covering but based on cost and prior experience the WeatherTech option works for me. Installation was typical WeatherTech – strait forward and relatively easy.

The next priority was a bed cover (tonneau cover). My last truck had a soft tri-fold tonneau cover that lasted 6 years and still looked good but I decided that I would go with a hard tri-fold cover this time. I purchased a WhaleMotor tri-fold hard tonneau cover from Amazon. There were a lot of options for hard tonneau covers. I bought the WhaleMotor one based on the fact it had bed hold downs for each of the three panel versus only front and rear hold downs of the other hard tonneau covers I looked at. Only time will tell if I made the right decision. Installation was easy and fit was good.

I did read your posts when I bought my Lobo and really like what you have done with your truck. I agree with your opinion on the looks of mud flaps but based on an initial drive on my snowed on dirt road and the amount of mud on my doors I will have to go with mud flaps to protect my paint. Have you ever found a mud flap that looks good?

After I purchased and installed the Ford Cargo Management System Kit (bed rail tie down kit) I ran across a YouTube video on a DIY solution. I like this solution, but already have the Ford solution in place. If you are looking at the Ford solution you owe it to yourself to watch this video because if you are capable of doing it you will save a lot of money.

I like the RokBlokz "cause the "rally-style"
But I'm gonna wait, the wheel fender flares are enough for now

I'm in Colorado. Have a '26 Lobo "High" that I've put Red Line struts on....have used these for
many vehicles over the years. Also the RokBlokz which I've used before. Good fit, look good.

As for tires I've been using Continental DWS 06 Plus tires on many different types of vehicles
over the years.....I trade a lot. From Suv's of different sizes, to Mustang GT's, and a BMW M2.
Have them on this Lobo. Make ride better than OEM's for sure. Great grip in dry, wet, snow...thus
the.."DWS" name. They are in the Ultra High Performance All Season category.
Had to go to 245 sizing, but, that is within limits of tire diam. from OEMS's. Glad my ride comfort
is a little better for sure!

I have been following the tire thread you and others are participating in and the Continental DWS 06 Plus is at the top of my list based on your (and others) input. Just not sure I want to move up in size even though it is not that much of an increase. Also looking at the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ as a viable option. I haven't had the Lobo long enough to understand how the stock tires work in snow (or any extreme conditions for that matter). I am going to wait until this coming Fall to make a new tire decision as I gather more information. I need a tire that performs on asphalt, groomed dirt and snow/rain on both. I live in a semi-rural area off a dirt road but mostly drive on paved roads. In the Summer I do some driving on groomed dirt roads in the mountains. No extreme off-roading or mountain trails.

Greetings....I can honestly tell you the OEM tires are terrible....ride hard, and as most OEM tires
they are not the best out there or even close. They definitely don't have the grip and don't come close to the Contis. I've studied the Vredestein tires and they are close, but, still fall short of the
Contis. I've talked to a couple of my sales guys at Tire Rack over the past couple years and they
don't have any "skin in the game." They have to road test, track test all tires on their fleet of BMW's
so THEY know how a certain tire feels, handles, etc. They tell it like they experienced coupled with
feedback from customers. One other thing that seems to always come out about the Contis is
that they ride better than the equivalent Michelins and Vreds.

So, just my experiences and lots of research with Tire Rack. I tried to "stray away from Conti"....LOL,
but, in the end I always come back to them and I'm never sorry. Going from 235's to 245's is not
an issue at all. Does give more tread on the dry, wet, and snow, and cornering is much better.

Actually, sorry, that's 225's that are stock and I went to 235's. My bad.

Best of luck and enjoy your toy!
