Need help from Ford on issue just out of basic warranty

A few years ago, I had a very expensive repair on an F-150 that was barely out of warranty. Per the dealership service dept. suggestion, I called Ford Customer Service and explained the problem. They called back the next day and offered to sell me an extended warranty. I bought it, paid the $100 deductible and Ford fixed the truck.

I had a completed different problem with my last vehicle, a Honda CRV, all the warning lights on the dash would light up but a restart seemed to fix the problem. Took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. It happened every few months but always went away. I took it once more to the dealer and showed them the video, which I saved. They found nothing wrong. Fast forward to a couple of years later, out of warranty and boom all the warning lights go off and a restart does not fix the problem. Dealer said that it was a problem with the fuel injectors and that they need to all be replaced. Since I had it on record twice while under warranty and also still had my video, Honda Canada replaced them without any argument for free under a good will gesture. Saved me $1,500.

Long story short, take a video and get it checked out and/or on the record at your dealer. Make sure that the service advisor writes that although they did not find any issues the costumer showed them a video as confirmation of the anomaly. Keep video.

While I do have pics and video I’m already out of warranty period so to your point I should have done what you described when I was under warranty. Thx
