Are build threads as popular as they used to be? I used to be pretty active in the Focus Forums "back in the day" but haven't really been doing much with my Maverick. Originally this was going to be a temporary lease to hold me over to a Bronco, but after 2 years with this thing I've decided I'll keep it, and even lowered it! So, time to make a build thread I suppose.

It was a decent ride stock, and now (at least for me) MUCH more fun to dive after the lowering kit. The ride is slightly harsher, but only over bumps. I don't think there was any suffering to the comfort level after lowering it. My driving style is "enthusiastic" and taking offramps is much more enjoyable now.

Short term I'm hoping to swap some more suspension components, and definitely need wheels and tires. I'm interested to see where the tuning goes on these things, certainly keeping an eye on the Mustang 2.3 turbo swaps and tuning. 300 hp would be awesome!

And the Mach-E brake swap.

Although I do hate this transmission.

Love the Lariat headlights, lower grille paint and wheels, but it needs moar low 😁
I would like it lower to improve the stance but I flat tow it behind my MotorCoach and lowering it would increase the angle beyond the -3” / +3” tolerances

For the factory tie down bracket that has to be removed from the tailgate to fit the addition of the assist strut - there are options for a replacement tie down point that works with the strut. I have one available that I make and sell.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. And made in the USA by a fellow Maverick owner. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum. Don't lose a tie-down point!
