What is the most current software version for the maverick? I tried to check but it took an hour saying scanning or looking or whatever it does, never did say anything. And yes it was connected to a good wifi signal.

um, the dash screen? It is the update software click that just kept spinning. I assumed it would update everything electronic attached to it.

I think they meant whether you’re on the XL/XLT System or the lariat lux sync 3 module.

There are dozens of modules in the Maverick that can have software updates. You are talking about the option in the infotainment screen.
Ok, so you have an XLT, you want the current software version for the APIM?? Or maybe it doesn't have an APIM since XLT's don't have SYNC 3??
I just went out and looked at my own XLT hybrid. I see the update software button you are talking about. I don't have mine set up for automatic updates (and I probably won't). The software version for "Ford Audio" in mine is G1.8.0.1_RC15_R21461a. April 2nd build date.
The updates must be for either the APIM (accessory protocol interface module) and/or the ACM (audio control module). APIM updates for SYNC are very large files. This has a simpler system, so it may be possible to update over wifi?
There could be a glitch in your Maverick's system. Or there was a communication error with Ford's servers. We have issues all the time trying to update some of these modules at the dealership.
I don't know if I can offer any advice. Other than if you have it in at a dealership for oil change or other service, have them hook it up and check the software level for the ACM/APIM radio/infotainment screen.
