Similar experience with a set of Blizzteks last winter. Had an out of control 4WD pickup slide through an intersection thus requiring a rapid stop on an ice slick road. Had the tires about ten days. The too fast and uninsured driver hit two other cars and stopped after hitting a utility pole.I am glad you posted this. I think so many only consider going forward in snow and ice conditions hence the AWD preference. While this is certainly important, I feel it is more important to be able to stop and have good lateral traction to negotiate turns. That's where dedicated snow tires shine and make it worth the investment.
The set of tires were far less expensive than my deductible.
