Hoping some of the veterans here can help me understand where my Maverick is in the production process. I have a 22 Hybrid rollover that was scheduled for production the week of January 9, 2023. When I go to the tracker, I see the screen shot below.

Ford Maverick Making sense of the Order Tracker 1674508823050

However, this weekend I received an email from Ford saying,
"We understand it has been too long since you last heard from us. Just wanted to give you an update on the status of your Maverick XLT order. While production of your vehicle was projected to begin the week of January 9, 2023, supply chain challenges continue to cause delays and uncertainty.

This is frustrating, we get it. We want nothing more than to get your Ford up on the line and start assembling it. And we will continue to work hard to reduce the delays to try to get you on the road in your new vehicle soon.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get more information, at least once every 45 days. Hang in there. We really do appreciate your patience and understanding."

I am trying to read the tea leaves here, but I thought based on the tracker that the build of my truck was started on 1-12-23, but then I got this email.

Appreciate the guidance as my dealer has not responded to my phone call on this.

Data in the email you got and data in the tracker are not related to each other in any meaningful way. They should be, but they aren't. That is the easiest way to think about it.

Your truck did start being produced on 1-12-23, and will eventually finish and ship. Taking this long is bit concerning, but it happens. The email you got was generated because 45 days elapsed since the last email, and they hadn't finished your truck yet. It is a clunky system and clunky logic.

If you want to know more detail about where exactly your truck is in the production process, you can call Ford or chat with them on their website. The agent can tell you more detail such as "It is in the body shop". Or "it came back from the body shop on xxx date and is waiting for xxxx next step".
