Which brand of floor mats do you ues?I had to trim the center out of my floor mat to fit this can. My Mats had raised ribs and didn't allow the fits adapter to lock in. But it "fits" now.
I have the 3D floor mats and have the same problem, the trash can sits on the mat, not allowing the FITS to fully engage. The can needs to be about 1/2" shorter or the FITS attachment 1/2" further down the side of the can. I may look into lowering the attachment, I don't really want to cut the center out of my mats.

Did you get an ETSY FITS fixture and place it a ½” lower? Just wondering if this will work.

After using it a while, I just left it as is, it sits far enough into the FITS slot to keep it from sliding side to side.
have the same issue with the Ford FITS trash can and all weather mats. Thinking I'm going to go back to the dollar tree trash can with a FITS plug I was using earlier.
