Heated Mirrors work great and even though I have the Lux pack with Acoustic/Windshield with heat/defrost symbols - I can't feel or see anything produce heat of any kind- Manual says it works in conjunction with the heated mirrors assuming its on the same circuit-

Dealer thought I didnt have that option until I showed him the windshield icon-

This will be interesting-

There’s like a heater element where the wiper blades rest. That’s all I know. Don’t have my truck yet

It’s part of the lariat or lariat lux package. I originally thought it wld de-ice the entire window 😂

There is a single defrost line that runs across each side of the acoustic windshield where the wipers park. I didn't think mine was working after Safelite replaced my windshield(rock crack) as I could feel no heat there and the temperature gun didn't sense anything either.
But once winter came and my windshield actually froze up a bit I could see that it worked.

I see that thin line but hard to believe that can replace what used to be a robust grid of built in heating elements that most folks are used to.

What grid? It's simply a windshield wiper deicer, or a heated wiper park. All it does is warm up the wiper blades to keep them warm and pliable, and to help melt any ice sticking them onto the glass. The windshield itself is still cleared via the defroster.

That line folks are talking about is above where the wiper rests and I have never felt mine have any warmth whatsoever unless its melting ice with magic which would be fine with me :)

Not sure what you mean.
We are discussing a smaller version of a rear window defroster, with line or lines just at the bottom of the windshield. It is embedded in the window glass. If fuse and connectors are found to be sound; SOP is replace entire windshield.

What's confusing? It was a direct response to what I quoted.

The heated wiper park doesn't replace "robust grid of built in heating elements that most folks are used to."

"Most folks" are used to having just a standard front windshield defroster with no electrical heating elements at all. Electric rear defrosters are common, front is typically provided by the climate system.
