So the Maverick thing started for me with that Jalopnik review in January. The little truck intrigued me. I turned in an Escape at the end of lease in February, so I asked about it thinking maybe I'd get one down the road. I had a 2010 Fusion that was nearing EOL but it was paid for. I was curious about the ordering process, and when I could get in on the action. I wanted a XL hybrid. Cheap and hybrid were my motives. Talking to the salesman it turned out we lived in the same neighborhood. He said a client had one on order that he didn't think they were going to take. It was an XLT in Alto Blue. Fancier than I was thinking, not my first (or second...or third) choice of color and slightly more expensive but I said yeah. A word and a handshake. I did not get excited and did not think I would own this truck until it was in my driveway. I'd low key check in every few weeks fully expecting nothing. I started lurking here and saw all of the frustration and heartbreak. Surely this was not going to happen. A month ago my low key check in was greeted with it's on it's way. I still expected the rug to get yanked. The month dragged on. Surely there will be some outrageous "price adjustment". As much as I wanted the truck, I was not interested in a $40k pickup. That went against everything that attracted me in the first place. Long story short...MSRP less my family A plan discount I have a Maverick.

First off, I'm glad I have the XLT. I'm in my early 50's and I've earned a little luxury. Second, Alto Blue doesn't make the heart race...but it looks really nice. I have plenty of thoughts but the wife and I are off for a little get away.

Nice! The alto blue is low key awesome. The first maverick I saw live in person was that color. Thought it was black until the sun came out from behind the clouds and WOW was it gorgeous. I went with black but alto blue was my second choice.

Your experience waiting mirrors mine. I refused to believe it was mine until I was actaully driving home from the dealer. Now it's back at the dealer with a seat belt issue 😭 but it should be done tomorrow and I have lots of toys in the mail to install when it comes back.

Best of luck with your new truck.

Didn’t expect to be a fan of alto blue till I was up close beside one in traffic. It takes a deep wax job like no other paint color! This Maverick near me always looks like it’s fresh from the showroom or a magazine shoot. Makes the Maverick look like a whole other class of automobiles.

I have almost the exact opposite story to yours, On getting my Maverick to having it sold to someone else. Put in the paperwork in July last year, the first delivery window was week before Christmas ( didn’t happen ) then not hearing anything for almost 3 weeks. Get a frantic call from my salesman which was just finishing 2 week protocol for Covid. That my Maverick truck was on the lot unsold for 3 days and has been sold. I needed to rush over and block the other sale if still possible.

Hope you love your alto blue XLT as much as I do mine! Very dark but very beautiful, and hope you like washing! Only downside, doesn’t stay clean long.

🙂 yeah, I'm noticing that. Last car was beige on beige w/ beige. It looked the same washed or dusty.

Congrats on the truck!
I like the Alto blue because it's basically the color of my original midnight blue 74 Maverick minus the silver flake. I wish they put the flake in it. That color would pop in the light.
