I am going to the dealer any day now, and my base xl hybrid that is supposed to be under 20k + delivery... is probably not going to be able to be purchased at that price. (No private cash offer to be located.)

Please let me know if you have any any suggestions.

Summary:

I have spent countless hours documenting text messages, emails, phone calls (with both ford and the dealer)

The dealer I have been working with has been less than stellar with responding.

I have been extremely patient and polite, and do not flood them with messages.

Started communicating with dealer in Oct 2021. Obtained order confirmation at the start of Nov 21.

Reached out to dealer periodically for updates, as well as ford customer service. (starting off every few months)

Ford told me in mid-Sept that mine had a scheduled production and would definitely be a MY22.

Monitored closely during November since I didn't want to miss the transition private offer.

Called Ford on 11/23/22 and they told me it's still scheduled to be produced as a 2022.

Called Ford on 11/28/22 and they told me it was transitioned to a 2023.

Since then I have politely followed up regarding the private offer frequently, to both the dealer and Ford. Ford said to contact the dealer. The dealer said to contact ford.

I provided pictures of the ford instructions to the dealer from facebook groups, and I even stopped by the dealer and they told me they have tried everything, and tried calling everyone possible. They said have called everyone possible, and tried everything in the computer and my private cash offer for a vehicle I put an order in for in 2021 doesn't exist.

Ford has now said they are "looking into it" since 2/16/23... but no updates yet.

The vehicle was supposed to arrive 2/19/23 -2/28/23, and the window just expanded to 3/4/23.

Vehicle is currently listed on the dealers website... marked up 10k over MSRP.

I have been in contact with the dealer and Ford each business day for the past week to check on status of vehicle and the private offer. (simple text or phone call to ask if the vehicle has arrived and if they made any progress on the private offer.)

No one really seems to care.

Needless to say this was supposed to be my first new car, and first Ford.

What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience, has turned into hours and hours of research, documentation, conversations ending in unfulfilled promises, and fear it may all be for nothing. (or I end up buying my $20k truck for $30k)

Look at the live stream from today on the Long McArthur youtube site. Tim Bartz went through the private offer and the things the dealer had to do for you to get a private offer and how they can look up if they did what they were required to do but didn't.

How do you know if the dealer "COVP'd the order"?

And if it wasn't COVP'd, whose fault is that?

Did you get a signed purchase agreement from the dealer when you ordered?
Customer Order Verification Program - The dealer can look in the Ford system to make sure they matched your order to you instead of trying to put in an order for a fictitious person so they could get a stock unit to sell for more.
You can PM him on the forum @fordvideoguy with your details and see what he thinks is going on and what your options are.

Dealer had me signed a copy of the preview order form. They gave me a copy of the preview order form. Dealer took my drivers license and info down. Then I received the "Your 2020 Maverick XL Order" E-mail directly from Ford to my e-mail address right after that. I asked the dealer if there was anything else I needed, and they told me that was everything.

What's frustrating... I have email documentation of all the details before going into the dealer. I gave the dealer all my info, I kept all the info the dealer gave me, the dealer took my info and ID. I received e-mail confirmation from FORD that my order was confirmed and this was sent to my e-mail. I confirmed with the dealer there if there was anything else I could provide to them or if there was anything else they could give to me.

I follow up periodically. Ford assures me it will be built as a 2022, as production has already been scheduled. I follow up constantly at the end of November to both dealer and Ford just in case it needs to be switched over to a 2023, and then in late November I was told it was switched over to a 2023. Then I follow up with Ford and dealer immediately so they can address the private offer documentation and send them all the information I can find since November. I have been following up ever since then with no luck and no helpful explanation. Dealer says check with Ford. Ford says check with dealer. Finally Ford agrees to open a case and has had this as an open case since Feb 16th, with no helpful updates.

Since Nov 2021, I have done everything I have been told. I have been promised by Ford it would be a 2022 and not converted and that production had already been scheduled, then when it changes I follow up with everybody to make sure everything is being done. Despite all of this, nobody can explain what happened or how to fix it.
