I am going to the dealer any day now, and my base xl hybrid that is supposed to be under 20k + delivery... is probably not going to be able to be purchased at that price. (No private cash offer to be located.)
Please let me know if you have any any suggestions.
Summary:
I have spent countless hours documenting text messages, emails, phone calls (with both ford and the dealer)
The dealer I have been working with has been less than stellar with responding.
I have been extremely patient and polite, and do not flood them with messages.
Started communicating with dealer in Oct 2021. Obtained order confirmation at the start of Nov 21.
Reached out to dealer periodically for updates, as well as ford customer service. (starting off every few months)
Ford told me in mid-Sept that mine had a scheduled production and would definitely be a MY22.
Monitored closely during November since I didn't want to miss the transition private offer.
Called Ford on 11/23/22 and they told me it's still scheduled to be produced as a 2022.
Called Ford on 11/28/22 and they told me it was transitioned to a 2023.
Since then I have politely followed up regarding the private offer frequently, to both the dealer and Ford. Ford said to contact the dealer. The dealer said to contact ford.
I provided pictures of the ford instructions to the dealer from facebook groups, and I even stopped by the dealer and they told me they have tried everything, and tried calling everyone possible. They said have called everyone possible, and tried everything in the computer and my private cash offer for a vehicle I put an order in for in 2021 doesn't exist.
Ford has now said they are "looking into it" since 2/16/23... but no updates yet.
The vehicle was supposed to arrive 2/19/23 -2/28/23, and the window just expanded to 3/4/23.
Vehicle is currently listed on the dealers website... marked up 10k over MSRP.
I have been in contact with the dealer and Ford each business day for the past week to check on status of vehicle and the private offer. (simple text or phone call to ask if the vehicle has arrived and if they made any progress on the private offer.)
No one really seems to care.
Needless to say this was supposed to be my first new car, and first Ford.
What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience, has turned into hours and hours of research, documentation, conversations ending in unfulfilled promises, and fear it may all be for nothing. (or I end up buying my $20k truck for $30k)
Please let me know if you have any any suggestions.
