Location of back up camera

Has anyone been able to figure out where the backup camera is mounted? Will it still be usable with the tailgate down? My son’s F-250 has the camera on the gate and it is unusable when down... of course he has another camera up by the bed lights on the roof.

It just dawned on me how the marketing is highlighting how useful the bed is with the tailgate down. They probably should have considered moving that camera. Hah

I think you're right. My guess is that the drivers who will depend most on that camera will also have zero experience using the side mirrors to back up.
