I'm wondering if anyone uses a more expensive line output converter. I've read the cheaper ones (like i have) will send a distorted signal to the amps. My system sounds great, but, you always wonder "will it be better, cleaner sound quality" if I did this or that. I'm looking at Audio Control and Wavetech converters.

Hi BeardedMarine. Which converter are you currently using?
This is my first post to this forum. I am upgrading my front speakers (Focal 165) and installing an 8" Kicker L5 sub with a JBL GTX500 Mono amplifier. I am pulling the sub signal directly from the existing 6x9 factory sub (b&o), however I need a line converter. I will be monitoring this thread as I have read that there have been mixed reviews on some of the more 'basic' converters.

Use Forscan to change the EQ to flat. Also instead of using a LOC try to use a DSP for the best possible quality

I'm using some cheap knock off loc, I'd have to go look to see the brand. I'm really leaning towards the Audio Control LC7i. I was thinking to myself, I've put all this money in my system and I'm using a crappy loc.

Edit: I just remembered the loc I used was a Axxess.

Yeah I've already set my eq to flat and I really know nada about a dsp. If i did learn about a dsp I'd jack with the eq constanty. I'm the type that can't leave well enough alone.
