Letter inserts for the Maverick tailgate question:

I used a ceramic spray on mine. Love it. Nothing sticks to the paint. Even water spots come off with a micro towel or (gasp!) my thumb. I took the recommendation of a pal who has sampled a bunch of different ones. This is the one he recommended.

I was looking into some of these products. How many cans did you use? Do you have to protect areas you dont want to overspray?

I chose the matte black letters

as the gloss of the shadow black vehicle paint offsets it, also blacked out the Ford emblem. All purchased on Etsy.

You're welcome. Nothing wrong with keeping your prize possession clean. I have a monthly plan for one of those self-wash establishments ... wash the truck as many times as I want, so it's easy to keep her clean. Kind of makes me proud to drive.

I bought the 8oz size and I used about 1/3 of the bottle to do the whole truck. Comes out as a fine mist, so best if used in the garage or in the shade on a calm day. No need to protect any other surface. Spray some on a microfiber, wipe on a small area about a square foot of surface, then immediately wipe with a clean microfiber before it dries. Directions are on the bottle. I even used it on my tonneau cover. I'm thinking to do the wheels next time.

Thanks for asking. Before replying I had to think about it as I didn't exactly recall, but I'm referencing a ceramic spray on coating product that one wipes on and then wipes off. So, not the expensive ceramic coating that is more permanent. Anyway, lately been using the ceramic spray by Turtle Wax. According to Turtle Wax, two coats will last 6 months and looking at my truck, I'd say that's pretty accurate. Reasonably priced, easy to use, and like I mentioned, lasts a long time (of course which depends on your environment).

I'm going to be waiting awhile until I get delivery on my F-050 Light Duty Truck.
In the mean time, I'm beginning to order a few things in preparation of my new truck. For those who have put letter inlays in the Maverick tailgate stamp, what looks best? I realize it's a matter of taste, but I have ordered Carbonized Grey and was wondering whether Flat or Gloss would look best????
Bumpers, trim seemed to be a matte black, so I was thinking Matte Finish. But with that gloss grey metallic, gloss would look good too.
No truck to sample it on?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I went with the Matte Black on my 2023 EB Lariat. Got them from Amazon for around 20 bucks. Been on there for almost 3 years now with no issues.
