I still wish the XL has used the top portion of the light assembly too. Or had an easy way to retrofit something in the top half.

Yeah probably sometime over next year a good reliable option for top will become available. I mainly didn't like the way the amber lights leaked into top half of unused headlight, this looks much better however you use them, alone or when headlights on
