I'm surprised no one has said to move your desktop out by the car temporarily. Not that difficult to move, along with the monitor and mouse/keyboard.
Or even use a $20 Fifty-foot USB extension cable.

Update: I appreciate everyone's advice! I jumped on that one I linked. And at this time I have added Eco and sport mode!

I'm going to keep the laptop as I could(will) use it in fall for school.

Only issue I had was getting the connector to work. The laptop would not discover or know what it was until I plugged it into a USB 2.0 hub then that to the laptop. That fight took qbout 3-4 hours of figuring out.

That laptop I linked is sold for around 400-500$ on some sites so for 150 brand new didn't seem like a bad deal.

Keeping it isn't bad advice and I'm open it.

Only issue with that model is that it has the down graded windows that locks you to only Microsoft store apps.
It's a free upgrade to the standard Windows home. A quick google search will show you how..

Why not just get it for Android or iOS?
That would be forscan lite.
It can do a lot of the things that forscan can do without a (free) license, but not any of the programming you can do with the extended license/full PC version.

For example, with the extended license ( again free) I was able to enable DRL'S on my old 09 Sable, and my Mom's 09 Taurus.
( I also silenced all the seatbelt alarms on the sable..shhh.don't tell!)
And would be able to program a second key for my brother's 98 Mustang, if he ever felt the need. ( Long story, but when he bought it new they only gave him the one key/fob, and he never went back to get the other)
