So my ruby red metallic lariat got keyed the other day. Took it in to see about repair. Was quoted over $3k. Anyone have experience with this?

Reminds me of the guy who died of asphyxiation while spraying clear coat in a paint booth - he had a sad end but a beautiful finish.

$3K sounds high, but of course they are painting 3 body panels there and having to make sure it blends well with that front fender.

It doesn't sound high to me.

My Eldorado Touring Coupe got clipped in traffic a few years ago. The insurance called it totaled not for the needed bodywork, but because of the cost of painting two panels in White Diamond!
