Hi all, I've posted a couple times about pieces of my experience with my Maverick's journey, but it arrived and I'll recap -

Originally had a late May 2022 build date (ordered 9/20/2021).
Build date pushed back several times. Got a sticker with a 6/30/2022 date, but no build.
Check in the Ford system by the dealer in late August showed it was through production 7/29/2022, but not classified as "built".
I tried activating Ford Pass from late August until mid-September hoping someone would hit the accept button, which they did!
Watched my Maverick move around different parking lots behind the plant for about a week until the Ford Pass was shut off.
Got the much anticipated email October 1st that my Maverick was built and shipped. Estimated delivery October 28-November 3.
So, the wife and I head to northern Michigan for our annual fall color tour with friends. Get up here, have a nice lunch, back to the hotel and while we're sitting by the fireplace I get a call.... Hey, Kevin, guess what just arrived? It's here! Been here 1/2 and hour and already had 2 people come in and try to buy it. I said some bad words - again, just my luck to have it arrive 2 weeks early. I know this is punishment for something done in a past life.
Anyway, got it marked sold, sales guy is hiding it so it doesn't get sold before I get there Monday.

So to recap - wait, wait, wait, delay, delay, delay, suddenly "built" and shipped, transit time from Mexico to Michigan was 2 weeks. 12 months, 25 days order to arrival at the dealer.

I've had lots of vehicles in my life and usually I'm shaking with excitement for a new car, but this wait has been so long that I'm experiencing a much tempered excitement. Guess until I'm driving it out of the dealership Monday, it doesn't seem real.

Anyway, good luck to all that are still waiting. It's the unfortunate reality of today's world.

From the pics I've seen of the HPR Mavs something tells me the excitement will quickly return once you see it in person and get handed the keys!

I’m sure it will. Haven’t seen many HPR Mavericks.

Congrats on your early arrival. After you pick up the Mav, come on back to the U.P. to see more color, and stop and show me. I live in St. Ignace. My Hybrid XLT was built with all options and was out the assembly line door 9/22/22. it's been waiting in some damn parking lot next to the rail line since. Yesterday Ford CS told me ETA to my dealer is 10/28, that's not possible. I ordered it and confirmed on 6/29/21. Growling. (P.S. maybe I'll get lucky and it shows early like yours.)

I’m only as far up as Frankfurt., but I’m a native Yooper. I hope you get the same quick delivery I got (once it left the plant)!

I felt the same. I've had other cars where I was so excited to get them. But after a year of waiting, and all the nerves about last minute price hikes etc, I tried really hard not to get excited when I got the call. I don't think "sullen relief" is the emotion Ford is trying to invoke in their customers through factory order process.

Just moved from Traverse City to South Carolina last summer. My Maverick is about 2 hours south of me waiting to be shipped to dealer. ETA from Ford CS is last week of Oct., but hoping maybe next week some time????? Hoping the dealer won't mark it up, said they wouldn't, but that was months ago. Enjoy your new ride!!!
(We just came back from a 2.5 week visit to family and friends around Michigan, miss Traverse City, but the snow will be flying soon, so....................... :)

Perhap some off that muted excitement will be replaced with sheer joy and happiness once you and your Maverick meet.

What's a "Yooper"? Is that another name for Bay City Roller fans?

The dealership only gives 3 days on lot before opening up sales to others if the original order placer had not bought it yet.
Had to race to dealership to jumpback in line to get my paperwork finished before the other guy they sold my truck to, could finish.
My salesperson was finishing up the two weeks Covid quarantine. No one informed me it was there. And they called him to tell him he lost the sale.
We already had papers done since it was to be delivered before Christmas.
Just had to be there to sign our names.
Kind feel for the other buyer ( should not have stopped for coffee or whatever) he got a miracle find snatched away.

Forgot a couple things

Got my A-plan
No markup
No dealer added crap
No requirement to finance through the dealer

I feel very fortunate I have an honorable dealer.

Congrats on getting your Maverick early. Mine has been at the Rail yard in Detroit for about a week. I'm hoping mine will be here in Traverse City a week early. My delivery is estimated for October 22-28.

I hate to be negative, you might have you dealer run the vin for recalls, if it has a recall, you won't be able to drive it off the lot.

If the dealer gets caught letting you drive it off the lot with an open safety recall, they could get fined up to $21,000.

But on a positive note, congrats on your HPR Maverick, that color looks amazing in person.

Thanks for the heads up. No issues, picked it up yesterday. Ford pass will also show recalls (had one on the wife’s Escape hybrid).

Weather is crappy and I live off a dirt road, so haven’t driven it much yet!
