Had the Maverick 1 year and a handful of months. This spring, the buttons and controls on the right side of the steering wheel randomly (at least I thought) would stop working; including the menu button. I have been keeping track of the times they are working and not working. I found that days of high humidity or rainy days the controls on the right side of the steering wheel will not work at all. It takes a couple of days after a rain for them to begin working again. Is it possible that the wiring to that part of the steering wheel is not shielded or insulated enough?

Working in the tech field, my troubleshooting would not result in a software or firmware concern. Much like RAM often needs to be re-seated in environments with extreme changes in temp and humidity, I would lean the direction of hardware. Seeing the pattern, I am suspecting exposure to moisture/humidty. So do I try Dioxit on that side?

Could just try unplugging that particular module first and see if its just not seated properly.

Hello, Amy! Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with this concern regarding your steering wheel.
