These look wonderful. I have several questions:
  • How well do they keep water out when the Maverick travels at highway speeds?
  • How much noise do the toppers make on the freeway at 70 to 80 MPH?
  • Do you have a configurator? A configurator would allow folks to see what options/features can be changed.

Answering from my personal account, as I'm one of the Founders/ CEO and have been communicating on here for the past year.

1. Water? The side rails have an EVA foam that keeps 99% of the water out. Sometimes there can be slight gaps that can be filled with an expandable foam to avoid some air gaps. The front edge next to the cab has been a problem with the maverick, but we just started offering a bulb seal kit that will completely close off this area. Both of the solutions above are similar to a softopper or even hard toppers and are used by the install guys.

2. With the Cap version you shouldn't notice any extra wind noice. The Air-Topper which is a high-rise will probably create a bit of wind noise, but not a flapping or anything loud.

3. We dont have a configurator. At this time nothing can be customized on these versions other than adding an electric pump or some other accessories.

Hi. I own the cyber orange truck in the @FLATED HQ Air-Topper post above. I have the cab high version. The @FLATED HQ Air-Topper is a game changer. It is an on demand truck topper. I take mine on and off weekly.

As for the noise at highway speeds, there is none. When driving, the topper doesn't make any noise.

There is no need for a configurator. There are only 2 options for the Maverick, the cab high topper: https://getflated.com/collections/a...ll-truck-ford-maverick?variant=43252991295656 and the high rise topper: https://getflated.com/collections/a...ll-truck-ford-maverick?variant=43245966753960.

As for leaking, I haven't driven with the topper in the rain. It hasn't rained in my area of Texas since I got the topper in June.

Man, this thing is slick. When does the discount code expire? Guessing next Monday, August 7th?

Are there any downsides of keeping this Flated topper on even during the winter? How often would I need to inflate each side of the topper? I was leaning towards a Softopper, but I love the design of this.

Last question; is it only available in the grey color? Any future color options? Thanks!

You can leave it on in the winter. All of our testing is done in Montana/ Colorado. Generally you dont need to re inflate. Just need to monitor the pressure, and add some when the temps drop in the fall. I had one on for a year and a half and only topped it off once.

Only one color at this point.

Discount expires Sunday night at Midnight.

What would really be next level on this design would be if a tent portion extended over the tailgate when it is down so you could camp in it. You could have a platform and storage underneath. 🤙

Well we already have a Platform for the bigger trucks call the Air-Deck, and have some future designs to extend the topper. In the meantime there are some good truck bed topper Tents already available.

Does it have a front window that opens so that you get access to the Cab via the sliding back window?

I would transport my dogs in the bed of the truck and like having the pass through from the cab to the bed... Just keeps the dogs calmer..

Never seen a product like this before, neat! Reminds me of those inflatable airplanes from back in the 60s.

I love this idea and would consider it when I get my truck, but why so much branding? I get one logo per side, but three on each side and one on the back is overkill IMO. Most toppers have a single logo on the back which is enough. This is a driving billboard.

Yes. There’s a back window. It’s not very tall though. Maybe 7 inches max.

Love our air topper. I have the taller version and no issues with noise at any speed. Love the ease of taking it on and off as needed. It’s quick and easy to do. The whole thing can be stored on a shelf in the garage.

Thank you for the replies and all of the real-world experiences. This is a brilliant idea, and I wish I could get one for my 1980 Toyota SR5 Longbed (my Maverick already has an A.R.E. MX-series mid-rise shell).
