I'm Looking at SIDE BAR options

I see a very nice looking MAXMATE set on AMAZON for 149 ,but , reading reviews, there seem to be complaints and even returns for HYBRID models, because the bolt on the battery side is difficult or perhaps not a good fit. One guy said he was able to install it using dental floss but didn't say why it was needed!

I searched this forum for "side bar" and it returned only SIDE MARKERS!

Can you please share experience with mounting sidebars (no drilling option!)?
