What a journey so far, my Oxford White Hybrid with hitch Maverick is sooooo close, yet soooo far away!

The Journey:
Ordered: August 8, 2021
Production: (1) pull up in schedule into January, (2) subsequent delays into late February
Shipped: February 25th (to the dealer who I made the deal with who is to provide a courtesy delivery to me in another state)
Email Notice from Ford: Arrived at dealer on March 23rd

Now the challenge:
- Received notification from Ford that vehicle had arrived (at the dealer I made the deal with)and was being prepped
- Called dealer on 3/23 to understand when we could complete the deal virtually and get the Courtesy Delivery arranged - dealer said they were looking for vehicle but can't locate it? They said watch your email for updates. Not sure what to watch for.
- Called the dealer who is to receive courtesy delivery to see if they had heard anything. Fleet manager said "I think we have your vehicle, give me your VIN
and I'll check." Fleet manager called me back immediately and said congratulations on your new Maverick.
- Fleet manager asked when I could come an pick it up, he said he would "clean it up and slap a 30-day tag on it"
- I said that would be great but I don't yet "own it" as the original dealer "can't find it" and I haven't completed the "deal" yet
- So now I sit in Maverick purgatory, neither dealer knows what's next? And to top it off on the way to and from work for 2 days so far I can see it parked in the "receiving" dealership's lot.

It's not that easy; there is a process to follow and the selling dealership determines when they are ready to sell it to him/her (depends on arrival inspections, cleaning, dealer installed add ons, etc.).

I would call Ford and see if they can help any on their end. Sounds like it might be a glitch in the Ford system that is not notifying the selling dealership the vehicle has arrived at the courtesy dealership. Odd they cannot manually trigger the notification/process though. Would seem like they should be able to just punch in the vin and go from there.

It sounds like barely 24 hours have passed since your first call to the original dealership about completing the deal. That said, it does sound weird that two dealerships are involved here.
I'd keep in contact with both 'dealerships' and put it on your original dealer to call the fleet manager and 'own' the process of getting you your truck.
If dealership 'confusion' goes on, call Ford Marketing (800-3344375) and tell them your issue.

Good luck and congrats!

I would stop in if they are tagging it in your name it’s yours! Check vin and see what the deal is
