Best bets to get 22 or better are gonna be popups, hard or soft (Tent or hardside) that stay low profile. Or a small travel trailer under 8ft width where the slipstream of the Mav hits a surface on it tilted back 45 degrees. Also things like a flated topper might help to keep the airflow "high" coming off the Maverick if the trailer is taller.

Interesting that the topper could help! I'm planning to get a GFC at some point.

The frontal area and then weight determine the MPG. Hybrid isn't going to do much better than an Eco max towing.
Other than the fact that the Ecoboost’s power won’t drop when the Mavbrid’s battery goes flat after what, fifteen, twenty minutes at best.

Also considering same travel trailer. Looks to have huge areodynamic issue. Did you have issues with sway? Special hitch/bars used?

I have a 7x12x9h
3200 lbs loaded up
20 MPG at 55 MPH
18-19 MPG at 62 MPH (100 kph)
Pretty happy with the power and "feel" and stability while towing that. No complains. 8000 miles of experience.

Just got a 8x20x10h.
2700 lbs dry.
Have not yet towed it loaded up.
16-17 MPG at 55 mph with breezy 15-20 mph cross winds.

Did not feel stable.
I had way less confidence.
Probably a bit much for this little truck.
Though stability may be better when a little heavier actually. I will try that in 30 days.

Wind drag = way more significant that weight. As long as you have properly set up trailer brakes, stopping and even starting rolling is no problem.

The hybrid has plenty of torque.

Hybrids won't be able to pull a high profile travel trailer more than 65 mph. But should you even if you could?
