How to hunt unicorns?

Sorry, I called on vehicles that were not shown as delivered once I figured out these damn things were not sitting on lots at all, anywhere. So I was calling dealers showing to have out-standing orders and asked if they were customer orders or orders for stock. If an unspoken for order then I asked them how to get my name listed to take first crack at it when it arrived. The first two I did that with the trucks arrived within a week of each other and that was when those dealers decided to tell me they were going to charge an ADM. The third time was the charm....yes, do not rely on anything showing them on the lot. I called dealers 5 or 6 times a day checking on trucks showing in production or not yet in production.

Better yet, go to the address bar and edit the spot that says search radius = 100 and change it to 500. That is the true max search radius using Ford's inventory search.

I didn't see an option to go any higher than 100 miles in the dropdown.

First, you need to find a virgin...

Not sure which would be hardest to find, a Maverick, a Unicorn, or a Virgin.

There isn't. Edit the link where it says radius to 500 and it will search 500 miles.

Be careful doing a 500 mile search, from my experience it won't show all the stock at all the dealers in that search area. It will run through the first 100 dealers, expanding outward, and stop searching/showing results regardless of how many vehicles it finds after it searches the first 100 dealers.

That's what I ran into. When I called my dealer to ask about the two I found this way, it turned out they were fleet-ordered trucks and already sold. No joy.

Which are also rare and suffer from commodity constraints.

It won't limit it to 100 vehicles It will quit searching after 100 dealers, even if it only finds 30 vehicles. I found mine at a dealer that wasn't originally showing up in a 500 mile search because it wasn't ever getting to that dealer.
