How to Buy a Maverick

I wonder what steps I need to take and in what order. I'm appalled at the arbitrary markups dealers are asking for. One dealer in San Jose wants a 7,000 mark up ("market adjustment") on a 22, 400± MSRP Maverick in stock. My big toe says the economy probably will put downward pressure on prices later this year. We'd also like to see them in person before finalizing the particulars on what we want. Not easy. We don't expect to get it quickly but waiting 8-12 months seems ridiculous. I really am glad I found this site. Is the idea of getting what we want for MSRP a fantasy? Thanks to all, Donald

If you order one yes you can get it at MSRP. Off the lot good luck BUT some have reported they have done so. I call them lucky bas^&%$. But even on orders talk to the dealer some local dealers near me said oh we charge 5K over msrp on orders.

It's not like I'm 12 years old and never bought a car before. I'm 70 and I have bought one. Would have been more if not for family members passing on and motorcycles....

So how do I buy a Maverick (at MSRP of course)?

It seems that the Ford website offers the MSRP for the vehicle. And it offers the available options. But I do not see the price for the available options listed. It seems I need to follow their links to dealers for that. Also, there does not seem to be much in the way of detailed explanations of what the options involve---though maybe that is a failing to look in the right place on my part.

If that is true, will dealers quote a Ford generated price for options, or their own? And if it is a Ford generated price, is there somewhere I can see it without relying on the dealer?

I don't mean to seem overly distrusting of dealers, but I know from my own explorations that some of them will take you for a fool if they can.
