How much will allocation really matter?

I've seen a lot of hand wringing on FB about dealerships getting hundreds of orders and only ten or twenty allocations. And I'm seeing it a bit here as well.

Are they mixing up stock allocations with order allocations? Or are the regions going to be expected to use their allocations to fill extra orders? Because it seems weird that a dealership with only twenty- ish allocations would have enough demand for a hundred orders.

That is the theory. Although the charts that some dealers were sent did not explicitly say it, the numbers make a lot more sense if assumed to be dealer stock allocations.
