Just read this from my son, locomotive engineer in El Paso. They deliver some of our auto's out of that terminal. BNSF railroad also out out a memo to the train crews. We interchange a LOT of trains there every week. I'll talk to him tomorrow to see if he has heard anything else new, he is out of town in Albuquerque waiting for train back home. There are a few news articles online coming out now. Hope you all with orders get your Mavericks shipped out on time! Never know about these things though, many times blows over in a few days and back to normal. We will see.
As of December 9, 2025, the Ford plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, is facing potential disruption from ongoing, large-scale nationwide truck and road blockades across Mexico. These blockades, initiated by transport workers and agricultural groups on November 24, 2025, are affecting industrial corridors and customs points, including in the state of Sonora where the plant is located.
While there is no specific report confirming a complete shutdown of the Hermosillo plant due to the current December 2025 blockades, general supply chain disruptions in the region are expected. Ford's Mexican operations have been affected by similar rail and road blockades in the past, leading to temporary suspensions of production due to material shortages.
The Hermosillo plant produces the Ford Maverick compact truck and the Bronco Sport SUV. In October 2025, the plant was also affected by a widespread aluminum supply issue caused by a factory fire at a key supplier.
