New owner as of yesterday. Planning to install ham radio, 160 - 440. Also looking at DMR. I am thinking of a VHF/UHF antenna throughout the top of the roof, and then an HF mount back on the truck bed. All comments welcome.

I am also considering a cover for the bed. I am leaning towards the type that fold. Again, all comments welcome.

Welcome, and Congrats on your New Maverick.
I just took my first long trip. A round trip of about 1,900 miles from De Leon Springs, Florida, to NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. I have made the trip numerous times in all kinds of vehicles. The Mav managed the trip well. Average about 32 MPG, pushing the fast lane in the 80MPH range. There is plenty of power pulling into traffic and cruising. While in Bethesda, the highest mileage from NIH to the hotel is 60+ MPG. For the last ten years we have been driving a Ford Escape for our annual trip. For the last five years, it has been. a Hybrid. So, it's very comparable. The Mav has a wider backseat. We have the hard tonneau, and that makes it easy to slide the wheelchair and luggage into the bed of the truck.

Our last truck was a 2010 F-250 diesel. The Mav is very quiet, with plenty of room and three times the fuel mileage at those speeds. Plus, a much better ride.
