11 months and three days and my Hybrid Lariat+Lux is finally resting in my driveway. Built on 4/5, shipped on 4/6, arrived at the railhead at Port Wilmington Delaware 4/29. Sat waiting for a transporter until 5/11, when it was delivered late in the day. It was sitting next to 3 other Lariats and an XLT (the dealer got 8 hybrids delivered in two days). Picked it up today and drove it home the 2 miles from the dealer, so not a lot to report yet except to say it seems great with the exception of the tiny rear-view mirror. It reminds me a lot of driving an Edge and is a lot peppier than my Lexus CT200h daily driver. Although the dealer filled the tank it says 306 miles to empty so I'll see if that resets at some point.
Speaking of dealers, I can't say enough about how organized (and honest) Bob Bell (Glen Burnie, MD) Ford was. My salesman Edrick was more excited at the truck's arrival than I was (well almost). He called me right away to tell me they were taking it off the transporter NOW! I didn't have to ask for anything. They had the price of the original build and honored the price protection without me asking about it. One thing that I was wondering about was that there were two separate charges on the window sticker for the luxury package and a second for CP360 . On my DORA, it only had the charge for the Lariat luxury package and indicated $0 extra for CP360 because it was included with the lux package. I wasn't sure if they were going to try to add another $540 for the CP360 but they didn't and the final build price was $30,032 compared to the window sticker at $31, 755.
They also offered the original finance rates that were in place at the time of the order (6/8). There was no attempt to add-on any dealer installed extras or any ADM. The did offer a paint protection package but were fine when I declined that. They also didn't try to sell me an extended warranty which is probably due to my history of buying a new car from them every 2 years or so. The experience almost made up for the crappy wait and stress from the new customer-ordered system from Ford.
Time for a long road trip! Good luck to all those still waiting for their trucks.
