Has anyone been able to negotiate pricing on their Maverick?

Still waiting to get a build date on my base XL hybrid with only a drop in bedliner I ordered in June. I'm curious if anyone who bought theirs already was able to negotiate the price below MSRP or is Ford being very stingy about it due to the high demand/low supply?

If so, how much did you get off, what area are you from, and did you pay cash or finance?

Ford has nothing to do with what you pay at the dealer you've chosen - many have already agreed on their pricing at the time of ordering. If you haven't, and your dealer beats around the bush when you ask about it, there is a high likelihood they are going to mark your purchase up. Take a look at what is on their lot currently, if they have markups, you're probably in for a fight.

There are several dealers selling to buyers below INVOICE (not just MSRP) - Granger in Iowa, and a couple of dealers out east (can't remember all the names, I bought from Granger...but it is a day trip for me from Minnesota). 3% below invoice works out to be about 6% below MSRP - for an XL it may or may not be worth the trip.

Good luck, hope you've picked a dealer that won't try to run your price up!

Some dealers are offering below MSRP, but I highly doubt a dealer would negotiate on the model you ordered (especially the hybrid since they can't order dealer stock). You ask them for a discount and they'll walk away in a second so they can sell in on the lot with a $5K+ market adjustment.

I ordered mine from Galpin Ford in Van Nuys, California. No mention of a markup was discussed at the time I ordered mine. The sales order just shows MSRP + Destination Charge. Of course, sales tax + registration too. I'm going to try to get it for just MSRP + the cost of my bedliner. That's how we've purchased cars in the past and it's worked %100 of the time when paying cash. (Of course, don't tell them you're paying cash until the end.)

I got a very minor discount $200 off MSRP using the x-plan pricing for working at my current company. It also lowered my doc fee quite a bit off what they try to charge the typical Ohio buyer. Normally they try to make you pay the state max allowed doc fee of $250. They told me x-plan made my doc fee including tax and title just over $100.

Doc fee is usually negotiable but I haven't bought a new vehicle since 2016.
