You could keep both and sell one.I became so concerned this morning with the several day time lag using the 3rd party orderer that I visited another dealer where I had purchased a Ford previously, plunked down a $1,000 deposit. The salesman created the Preview Order and printed it out. I signed it. He talked his sales manager into processing the order with Ford in front of me. A while later I had an email from Ford confirming the order. Now I just need to cancel my first order request and get my first deposit back. I’m a happy camper this evening.
Don’t give up. If you can, go to the dealership the minute they open. If you can’t, insist on talking to the sales manager next time you call. Don’t give up !Well, I'm not holding out much hope of actually getting an order in this time around! Late yesterday my salesman sent me an order to sign and return, the problem was, it wasn't for the model or options I wanted! I had even sent him a marked up copy of the Order Guide that was published here with all the option codes I wanted circled, and he still got it wrong! I replied to his post with an Excel Spreadsheet I had created that had all the option codes and pricing for how I wanted it configured, but have not heard back. He must have sent the order as he was walking out the door at 5:45, even though the lousey picture he took of the order was time stamped at 12:15! I'm about at the point of giving up on ever owning a Maverick!
So the real decision is what is most important to you, a Maverick, a motor home, a boat, or a wife. That is a problem lol.I'm not giving up just yet, but now I have another uncertainty. I was wanting the Hybrid so we can tow it behind our Class C motorhome, but after a long discussion with my wife yesterday, we aren't sure how long we internd to keep the motorhome. I retire next year and there are a couple long trips we plan on taking, but after that we may just decide to sell the motorhome, at which point we won't need a tow vehicle. And, as she said, we could always rent a car if we want to do some sightseeing while camping. So, now I'm wondering if maybe I should switch gears and just go for an EB with the 4K tow incase I decide to get a fishing boat after the motorhome is gone! Why does this have to be so confusing?
If I were you, I’d go to another dealer, put down another deposit and ask/plead with the sales manager to put the order in while you watch. Salesmen can’t enter orders as far as I know. This worked for me. I had previously bought a vehicle from the 2nd dealer. I would do this today (9/18) or Monday. From reading this website, there is some chance the 2023 orders will be closed out early this week. Good luck.Well, I'm not holding out much hope of actually getting an order in this time around! FlairGunner, you have to be careful towing a hybrid, I am told. The Mav is front wheel drive. The front wheels must be off the ground when towed.I'm not giving up just yet, but now I have another uncertainty. He hoped you would sign the order in your name, then refuse to take it when it arrives. Guess who winds up with a Mav for sale?
