Bought a 2022 Black Maverick Lariat on 1/31/22 with a $7,000 dealer premium added to price of truck. Mac Haik in Georgetown, Texas charged 2 thousand dealer prep and a 5 thousand availability premium For a total cost of $42,043.44. Currently has 12727 miles on odometer. Now have original order being built on 6/26/2023. Sticker price for the Maverick I originally ordered is $36,325.00. Taking suggestions on what’s the best deal I can expect for a trade-in or should I sell on open market.

You won't get that $7,000 dealer markup you paid back in trade-in, that's for sure. Holy crap you got taken for a ride with that one, sorry.

Check with carvana and other car buying companies and take the price with you when you go to buy. They might match and if not, then sell to best offer.

Ouch! Well, you can say you paid the premium to enjoy a truck for the last year, so there’s that.

The marked has softened a little but it is still a very desirable vehicle. I know the dealership trade-in route is always attractive for convenience and tax mitigation but I would highly encourage you to attempt to sell it privately to maximize profit and hopefully minimize the depreciation and ADM.

Good luck and let us know what kinda offers you get back from Carvana and the rest… Just remember that their offers fluctuate wildly based on their inventory, demand, and other market algorithm variables. If you get a quote now, it will not likely mean much unless you plan to sell it now.

I would definitely not recommend selling your vehicle on Carmigo as you will not get a good value at all. I just tried to list my 2023 Lariat Lux with BAP and 4,500 miles on Carmigo for $45,000. Yes its high but the sticker price is $37,000 and I added $3,000 to it including full ceramic tint and windshield, ceramic coating, PPF, spray-in bedliner and a tonneau cover. That to me justified $45,000. They came back and said they only sell to dealers and couldn't go above market value which is $38,000. There are dealers selling used 2022 XLTs for $38,000 and yet mine is only worth that? I like their picture-taking system, but if you have a Maverick don't bother with them.
