Just happened to check with Ford Chat on my orders status and I have a vin and build week of 10/31/2022. I did not get any notification that this happened lol.
EB AWD Lariat Lux, 360, FX4, 4K, moon roof
Was about to change my color from Cactus Grey to Area 51 too ... oh well ... Like others have been saying, I was almost kind of hoping to get pushed to a 2023, but as they say, "a bird in hand"

You should be able to change the color if you want to. Once you get assigned a build week your dealer can go in and edit the color.

Either way, congrats on getting scheduled!

Same exact car ordered here. Lariat, 4k tow, fx4 off-road package, c360. Order date 1/15.
Called Ford today & they informed me I have to go to my dealer to place my 2023 order after 9/8 and before 9/12 ( i think she said before 9/12.. not sure) I'm going in on the 8th regardless. Not a word from the dealer about that. they still show unscheduled clean.
The dealer is supposed get a list of people from Ford that aren't scheduled as of 9/8. They are then supposed to call us to schedule a time to order the 2023 model. If you order the same trim you get a coupon to essentially lock in the 2022 price. Supposedly no open market orders are taken until all 2022 orders are converted for priority ( and based on parts availability)

Any idea of how? I've read here that it is possible to change the color after receiving a VIN and scheduled build date. I asked my dealer and they said Ford does not allow any changes once a VIN has been issued. I'd love to show then how.

@fordvideoguy should be able to tell you the specifics. As I understand it the dealer can go into their system and change the color. It is locked when it is at Priority 2, once it has a VIN it is unlocked for changes, the changes just have to be approved by the factory. He says the color change is nearly always approved.

Thanks, you gave me at least some idea of how it works. I reached out to him via email last week, no response yet. I'm sure he gets hundreds of emails a week with his newfound celebrity.

It's simple, click on order, select color of choice, click submit, it will turn green then back to blue. Then click on the the "i" under SVS in a day and should show you if factory accepted the change. I've done it so many times I can't count. If they click on the order and it says "order can't be amended" them is too close to the build date.

Thanks so much. I will send these instructions to my dealer today and follow up with them a day or two later. It's been said many times on here, but you are an invaluable resource for many of us trying to negotiate Ford's ordering process while interacting with a dealership that may or may not know what they're doing.
