I have to say the process worked as expected. I went to drive a Genesis and the dealer had a Maverick so I drove both plus a Santa Cruz. All were okay but I really liked the Maverick the best. Then I drove an ecoboost at another dealer and liked that even more.

I found out here about the ordering window in September 2022 and let my dealer know- they had not read the memo. My salesperson and the sales manager were off on Thursday so I ordered it on Friday. I took a "build sheet" from MTC and handed it to the sales manager so we were on the same page. I was priority 19 and I don't think that ever changed. He suggested taking off the mud flaps and spray in liner because they were constrained so I did. I later called my salesperson to change color to Carbonized Gray and she took care of that (I called in to Ford to make sure!)

I got two 45 day emails right on schedule and then in January got noticed I was scheduled. They pushed that back a week and it was built on March 13 as promised and shipped a couple of days later. There were a couple delay notices but it was delivered to my dealer last Wednesday and I picked it up Friday. Had to fend off the dealer from pushing a couple of things I did not want but they were decent about it. I had asked my salesperson if they would tack anything on I did not want and she said no and that's what they did. They gave me the price from when I ordered.

Have not had a lot of time to drive it yet but so far so good. My car is a 2004 and my truck is a 1987 so quite a lot of changes. Have not decided if I will get rid of the old Mazda- used it yesterday to pick up some wood. For now it will live on the driveway.

I am really happy I switched to Carbonized Gray. I know some think the BAP is too much money but I would have paid that just to get the interior change. With the black interior pieces the blue adds a little contrast.

I'm leaning that way for now but I would hate to leave it out in the winter- that gives me a few months to decide! If I find someone who appreciates it and will take care of it I might let it go.

My high school buddy and I spent a lot of time in a B2000 truck. It was a heap then, but it was freedom to us!

I was always in a good mood when I was in the Mazda because I knew I wasn't working for my job but doing something I wanted to do.

I've hauled many tons in it. Remodeled parts of 4 houses and hauled a lot of landscape stuff and mulch.

Night and day is probably not strong enough. The B2000 is a 5 speed which is still satisfying to drive but no power steering which is hard on my arthritis. The Mazda got a new short block about 40k miles ago so it has adequate acceleration but the Mav is pretty much a rocket when you hammer it.

We converted the AC to R134 and it works but with the Mav I could hang meat- not sure why I would want to do that. The Mav smooths out the bad pavement better and I think the audio system is fine- my first car with Sirius. I like the extra airbags and I may not need all the nanny stuff now but I'm not getting younger.
