Love this thread. I grew up in West MI (Grand Rapids). Brother lives outside Sand Lake, fun things to do anywhere you look. Definitely go check out Silver Lake.
I've lived in northwestern WY for 35yrs now. Tons of BLM, badlands, and Forrest service roads to explore. Just know you're vehicle's limits. Looking forward to the next time I can get back to MI, love it there!

On the one hand, it is a long wheelbase with less than ideal clearance for anything past moderate off-road driving. On the other hand, the skid plates on the FX4 are metal so they have a little bit of usefulness there.

I think that if you're more serious, the Tremor package is the way to go. I'd have gone that route if I could have gotten the 4K tow with it. I have towed pretty much the limit on mine a couple of times.
I'd have gone that route as well. I never saw a Tremor on a lot unfortunately.
