Thought I would share a personal experience regarding the issue with availability of fully functioning Maverick Key Fobs.

I’ve seen where Ford is reducing the number of fully functioning (Remote Start) fobs to one per vehicle. Well I was at my granddaughter’s 14 birthday party yesterday when one of her aunts come rolling up in a brand new Toyota RAV4. While I was admiring the new car smell she mentioned some of her likes and dislikes.

Lo-and-behold her main dislike was the surprise when she only received ONE fob. They told her there was a shortage of full function Fobs and they could only supply one Fob per vehicle.

My point is it’s not just FORD and at least FORD is providing two Fobs even if only one is full function.

Just an FYI.

seems like the great chip shortage is slowly fading away. the raft of F series awaiting chips at the Kentucky speedway is almost gone.

Currently for the Maverick, you still get 2 fully functioning key fobs. Ford has added the depopulated key fob option to the order guide as a cautionary measure. If the chip shortage gets worse, they will start requiring it be added to be built but as of right now, they don't feel it's necessary.

Picked mine up yesterday and got 2 fully functional key fobs
Yes! I was corrected earlier that Ford added a delete code, but has implemented it yet. Looks Toyota has though. 😊
